PA Man Struck Dead In Staples Parking Lot: Police

A man was struck dead in Pennsylvania Staples parking lot, police announced on Wednesday night, on Oct. 23.

The elderly King of Prussia man was struck in a Staples parking lot, located at 1844 Ridge Pike in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, at 12:15 p.m., police detailed in the release. 

There are multiple marked crosswalks in the parking lot, as shown on Google Maps Street View, but it is unknown if he was walking in one. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene, the police explained.

"The driver of the striking vehicle has been fully cooperative with authorities and is assisting in the investigation," the Upper Providence Township Police Department stated in the release. 

"His identity will not be released until the next of kin has been notified," the police said. 

The Upper Providence Accident Reconstruction team is investigating this fatal crash. 

"The Upper Providence Township Police Department extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim," the police wrote in the release.
